Blue Moon products carry a small batch, homegrown flavor and needed a site to capture that. Everything they make is handcrafted in their commercial kitchen in downtown Spartanburg, South Carolina using natural and local ingredients, so it was important for us to reflect the level of attention and care in the design of the website.

We love the thoughtfulness of the Blue Moon Brand. Our favorite feature is the ability to personalize a product and send as a gift. 

Seed To Sauce

Blue Moon humbly launched at a local farmer’s market with homemade spices and spreads created from Chris “Wishbone” Walker’s own garden. While company grew, Wishbone sought to maintain that personal relationship between customers and his products. To that end, we folded the brand story into the website on every level, informing purchase decisions and preserving the essence of the brand.

Serving Multiple Audiences

Blue Moon’s market is direct consumer, wholesale and institutional. Because the site is a tool for both B2B and B2C, our focus in design and UX needed to appeal to a wide audience range. We accomplished this through thoughtful content strategy and a streamlined user path.

The Consumer Experience

Without the ability to pass out samples, our challenge became replicating the farmer’s market interaction through a screen. To enhance the shopping experience and inform purchases, we beefed up PDP content with tantalizing product descriptions, recommendations and recipes. The mobile design also needed to act as a tool for locals interested in the Spartanburg flagship, offering a direct path to weekly specials and store information.
