How to Reuse Facebook Ads with Social Proof

Facebook is a powerful platform to share and connect with people or brands. It is also a great platform for advertising. Running ads on Facebook can get your products or services in front of millions. And ads with social proof can take your message even further.

But what exactly is social proof?

Have you ever purchased a product because of a positive review? Well, if you have, then that is social proof. Social proof is the influence or trust a potential customer gains from testimonials or reviews of past customers. But social proof doesn’t only rely on reviews; it can be in any public social media interaction with likes, reactions, shares, or comments. These engagements on a post act as proof that a post is valid, the product is amazing, or the service is worth it.

So how can you use social proof to your advantage? One way is reusing your posts that have a lot of engagement (likes, shares, etc.). All that engagement on a post signal to others that this might be something I should check out.

Now how exactly do you do that? Let’s break down the steps to reuse a post with social proof.

Step 1: Find the Ad with the Most Social Proof

First thing first, locate the ad that has the most social proof. Now that you have the ad you want in mind, in Ads Manager click edit, then select ad preview. Under Share, scroll down to Facebook Post with Comments option and choose that.

Step 2: Copy the Post ID

Now you will need to find the post ID. Once the preview loads, to make things easier, copy the whole URL in the search bar and paste it into a word document or notepad to use later. To find the post ID look inside the URL string. The post ID will be the number that follows posts/ and ends before the ?.

Step 3: Create an Ad

Next, you can create a new ad or duplicate a post, whichever works for your strategy. Under the Ad Setup section, in the dropdown window, select Use Existing Post

Step 4: Add in Post ID

This is where the copied URL and post ID come into play. Go back to wherever you saved that URL and copy the post ID. Head back to Ads Manager and under the Ad Creative section, paste the post ID. Once you hit submit, the ad will appear in the preview window with the same amount of likes and comments from the original post.
